Dutch Eating-house with a terrace at lake Sloterplas (Amsterdam-West)
Back in 1973 Hans van den Heuvel en Wim Thie started their business at this location, serving fastfood, lemonade and beer. The Oostoever at that time consisted of a huge terrace with a kiosk.
The place was open only, when the wheater was fine.
In 1982 the café itself was build upon the terrace and since, the café is open all seasons. Problem was, the kitchen was not practical for running an eating-hous, it was to small. In the nineties, we were able to join the kiosk on to the café. In was 1998 the kitchen was finally finished and profesionally equiped. Now, it is an eatinghouse and we don't have any big plans for structural alterations. We like it the way it is.
